Known for arranging dynamic open mic shows featuring stand-up comedy, poetry, singing, storytelling, and more, The Komedy Club aimed to push boundaries with this unique concept. The event created an interactive environment where artists presented their craft, while the audience, armed with anonymous notes, delivered witty and sometimes brutal critiques, making for a truly engaging two-way street of entertainment.

“We believe in constantly evolving and offering something fresh to Ahmedabad’s vibrant arts scene,” commented Aditya Butar, one of the five seasoned comedians who co-founded The Komedy Club. “This ‘anonymous roast’ open mic was designed to be a fun, engaging, and challenging experience, and it certainly delivered on all fronts. It was fascinating to see how artists embraced the humor and wit from the audience, reacting on the fly.”

The event garnered a lively crowd, showcasing a wide array of talent willing to step into the spotlight and face the anonymous feedback. The highlight for many was the winner of the show, who proudly took home a substantial cash prize of ₹2500, a testament to their performance and resilience under fire.

The Komedy Club was established by a quintet of experienced comedians – Aditya Butar, Vikrant Vyas, Vijay Khatri, Hardik Valand, and Nikhil Gupta. Their collective expertise in the stand-up circuit has been instrumental in shaping the club into a thriving hub for local talent and a go-to venue for unique entertainment in Ahmedabad.

“It takes courage to perform, and even more to face an anonymous roast, but the artists truly rose to the occasion,” added Vikrant Vyas. “This format pushed them to be sharper, more resilient, and ultimately, even more entertaining. For the audience, it was a chance to be part of the show in a way they never had before, and they loved it!”

Following the success of this pioneering event, The Komedy Club is expected to announce details for more innovative and exciting shows. People of Ahmedabad are encouraged to follow their social media channels for updates on upcoming performances and to ensure they don’t miss out on the next unique cultural experience.
